Montreal’s top head trauma doctor said Friday that (the lack of a medical helicopter) may have played a role in Richardson’s death
Montreal did not have one. Why? Because it costs too much for Universal Health Care. So is this the future of our medical care?

Universal Health Care will eliminate more things that the “flight for life”. Montreal doesn’t have one because making government pay for everyone else is more expensive, taking away funds from much needed essentials.
Obama has promised a Universal Health care, it doesn’t work. He’s making our country into a more socialist regime by every bill he signs.
I’m in the military, and they’ve already considered making injured vets pay for their medical needs (like the injured vets who get their legs blown off from an IED, or a severe head injury that renders them brain dead). God bless Obama.

It’s not CARE…it’s INSURANCE! If you have an argument against HEALTH INSURANCE why not let us know what it is? Helicopters are not a part of any HEALTH CARE system that I know of. If you do ever get a lift in a chopper, and you don’t have insurance be prepared for a bill you’ll never be able to pay. Even a short ride in an ambulance cost a couple of grand. Why don’t you know that? Everyone else does? Way too much right wing radio, bro…way! No kiddin’!

Absolutely! And some Americans want Universal Healtcare? How stupid can you get? Most Americans take for granted how lucky they are to live in this amazing country. This is why you see people coming from all over the world to America to have thier operations. For every American going to Canada for healthcare there are busloads of Canadians coming to America for healthcare, because we don’t have universal healthcare. And Americans want the government to run their healthcare? Why don’t we have the government dress us up like little dolls and take care of us, while thier at it. I’m sure Americans would love that. Give those universal healthcare idiots what they want, and I’m sure, after a year or two, they’ll want their old healthcare back (if their not dead, due to lack of treatment from thier GODverment).

The fact of the matter is that there is a way better chance for survival, had she been in the US after going to her hotel room and THEN getting the headache. She was dumb for refusing a helmet in the first place, granted, but urgent care is not an urgent priority in cost-evaluated universal medical care.

Montreal did not have one, that’s true. But there are some at other places in Canada. Universal health care doesn’t mean that all the medical helicopters will disappear. If there are enough funds for that then they will get one. Learn the facts before just telling pure bs.

No. The head doctor can say all he wants. Richardson’s decision to refuse treatment was more the cause of her death than the lack of medical helicopters. She chose to go back to her hotel and not go to the hospital for 2 hours. It was her own fault she died.

Trust me, the politicians will continue to have the best health care. They (and their families) will have access to helicopters. You or I (and our families) will NOT have that access!
Yes, but remember, that’s what WE WANTED!!!!

all signs point to a hybrid system in the US.. so we’ll still have available those little extras for the people who are willing to pay.. but a base level of care will hopefully be available to all.

I know. It had nothing to do with the fact that she refused medical treatment in the first place.
