i haven’t been to the doctor’s office in 2 1/2 years because i haven’t needed to go and we didn’t have insurance. but now we do and my mom wants to take me. I am 13 and i have boobs and have gotten my period. I was wondering if the doctor will touch me down there and if he does what will he do?

There is a good chance the doctor will look down there. Just to make sure it is developing correctly. They might or might not touch but if they do they are just feeling your ovaries for the same thing. Dont worry about it. They do it every day and it isn’t a big deal to them. Seeing a male or female doctor doesn’t make a difference they see the same things they have the same knowledge. One isn’t better then the other and you should feel as comfortable with a male doctor as a female

you need not to worry for that.iam also suffering with the same problem.i suffer alot with stomach pain whenever i get periods.when i was in india i used to go to a lady doctor.she doesnot touch me down.she used to touch me down the stomach, but not there.and she used to give one injection.she told me that if the boobs bulj very much then there will be a problem.but now iam in france and i havenot gone to the doctor since i have come here.i want to say that its better to go to doctor than to suffer like this.and trust on him and god.everything will be alright.please comment on this now.this is my experience.

I doubt he will have to check “down there” unless you’re having issues. He may ask you to lay down on the examination table and press on your belly gently to feel around for anything that may feel unusual but otherwise, you should be fine.

unless you’ve had sex or have any kind of problems, he won’t need to go inside of you.
He may, however, look at the outside (to make sure everything on the outside looks normal) and he’ll press on your pelvic region (the outside just below your navel).
Don’t take my exact word for this (i’m 19 so its been awhile since my physical at that age) but that seems the most correct to me.

there is a special doctor for that stuff. if you do go to that special doctor she/he (i prefer she) just swabs the inside of your vigina to take some tests just to make sure u r healthy. also they talk about your period a little. this might make you uncomfortable but its normal. just hope ur healthy!

are you on birth control? I am not sure if the doctor would be capable of giving you a pap smear but it might be a good thing to actually just go and have one done, since you do get your monthly cycle. Don’t be afraid its not bad, over in minutes!

There is NO reason for a doctor to touch you down there. Unless you got problems down there he/she will have to look and assess the problem. Get a female doctor if you feel to embarassed having a male doctor x

The doctor would probably LOOK down there, but unless you are already having sex he doesn’t need a smear so he wouldn’t do much, however he will touch your breats, it’s routine.

I am pretty sure they will just talk to you about you getting your period. Welcoming you to womenhood. She might feels your breast but nothing below the belt
