Please be wary of those ‘online programs’ (such as penn foster and stratford career institute) as most if not all, are not looked at as reputable schools for the actual workforce according to employers and as someone else mentioned, one really needs hands-on, clinical and classroom experience as one is dealing with patients and safety issues. I believe that the multiskilled technician which sounds similar to the health care technician is basically a cna and medical assistant rolled up into one.
Here is a website from the US Occupational Outlook Handbook: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search ‘medical assistant’, ‘multiskilled technician’, ‘nursing assistant’ or perhaps ‘healthcare technician’. Please really consider going to a county vo-tech school or community college (non-credit courses) for any of those programs as opposed to the private schools as they are typically so much more expensive and basically are a racket (between us and the wall ;) Good luck to you!

I believe the first two are pretty much the same. The CNA includes mainly patient care as in a hospital or long term care facility, while the others may also include some lab testing, injections, and a few medical procedures you wouldn’t ordinarily perform as a CNA. I doubt that employers would be very interested in someone who trained on line, since most of these duties require practice with a real person.
