I’m interning at an ad agency, and it’s my responsibility to cold call a list of private doctors (opthamologists, cosmetic surgeons, etc etc) and get them to think they need our services (brochure and catalog design, web design, video production, commercials.) But I’m not quire sure how to go about my pitch, what sort of advertising do private doctors do? Brochures I guess… possibly ‘walk through’ videos for certain operations. What should I stress? What should I say? Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks

I work at an Ad agency myself and if I were you this is what I’d do.
First off step back and think where do you often see doctors advertising? Typically in print, right? I often seem them advertising in free local publications, newspapers and regional magazines.
If I were you I would pick up those publications and call the doctors that are already advertising. Ask them if what they’re doing is working for them. If not suggest how your agency can benefit them.
Mediums that I see fitting for doctors needs to be localized. It would have to be websites that locals visit, publications that locals read. Billboards that locals see.
Make your focus when you’re cold calling that you want to increase their foot traffic. If nothing at all push the Public Relations side of it. Say how you’d like to brand them in the community. Just getting their name out there in the community can turn into increased foot traffic.
I hope this helps.
