What is the justification for the health care bill?
I’m 28 years old. I’m healthy. I haven’t gone to the doctor in years. I’ve got money in the bank, and I pay my bills.
But I don’t have health insurance.
If I’m understanding the legislation correctly and it passes, not only will I have to buy health insurance, but the insurance companies will be forbidden to discriminate based on age or family size.
So basically, I’m going to have to pay for the medical bills of elderly people and big families.
How is this right? How is this justified in a country like America? Is this still a free country?

You have the process correct. It’s the “redistribution of wealth” that Obama promised during his campaign. Think “Joe the Plumber”. We were warned.
In reality, if they let me keep my money, I could take care of my 86 year old mother better than Medicare is doing now!

What happens if you get into a bad enough accident? Without insurance, your savings will be wiped out in an instant. You won’t be able to get insurance, because you’ll then have a ‘pre-existing condition’.
In which case you’ll then become a burden of the state if you can’t work, costing the rest of us money because of your negligent decision.
I imagine that you’re simply trolling. I would be happy if you could opt out of the new health care bills – provided you also opt out of all government entitlements, now and in the future.
Since that’ll never happen, if you really want to be off the grid and not responsible for the rest of us and us for you, there are semi-autonomous nations within the US. You know – become a Mormon, see if an Indian tribe will take you, or move to the mountains in Montana.

Federal Health Bill Calls For Billions in Orwellian Psych Programs and Treatments
Information: As the entire country is aware, there is currently an effort in Congress to pass a massive “Health Care Reform” bill. In fact, Congressional leadership is doing everything in its power to pass this $1 trillion plus bill.
There are two versions of the bill — one in the House (H.R. 3200) and one in the Senate (there is no number for the Senate bill at this point, but it is titled the Affordable Health Choices Act).
Both bills forward massive increases in government funding of mental health programs that turn America into a full blown therapeutic state…

The reason it’s called insurance is because ANYONE can get sick at ANYTIME.
It has nothing to do with age or your current state of health. You are not immune to injury or illness because you are “young and healthy”.
For example, young healthy people are more likely to get the H1N1 virus than an old unhealthy person.
It’s just like mandatory car insurance.. you can be the safest driver on the planet… that won’t stop you from being smashed into by some other moron on the road.
The day you get really sick, you will wish you had insurance.

I think health care should be free, something that the government pays for with the money they collect from taxes. A lot of our tax money goes into the US military, something we “need” in order to be the world police.
One issue I’ve noticed with health insurance is that in order to get a low premium, one has a huge deductable. Also, if you have pre-existing conditions, getting health insurance is extremly hard.

The logic is completely flawed. It is the idea that someone else’s needs (and these needs are determined by completely subjective standards) place an obligation on you, even though you had no part in creating these needs. It plays into the idea that people are not responsible for their own outcomes and because of this we say (erroneously) that they are not responsible for being poor and you deserve no credit for being able to support yourself. That, taken a little further, means that your property doesn’t really belong to you. The money you’ve earned belongs to society as much as it belongs to you. It completely destroys the concept of values, individual rights (and responsibilities), and property. It is truly evil at its core, yet to oppose it you will be accused of being a heartless monster.

Exactly. And let’s not forget about the people who already HAVE health insurance; what if it’s better than the defaulted government health care? What then? We can keep it, yeah? Oh wait. Nope. You’re going to tax us up the kazoo until the odds and ends just don’t pan out anymore. Then we’re stuck at some shady local clinic. This is a ******* joke. I hope it never passes.

Well, honestly, who knows. Obama does not do what he said in his campaign (he lies)
    1. no tort reform in the bill. this will save billions
    2. i think it is wrong to charge extra tax to people who decide to take the ‘top” or “gold” or caddilac” plan. in other words, there is a penalty for those who want to pay for best coverage. why
Obama and his ku, need to create jobs. this will fix the economy, any other effort is balony and screwing american people

Understand your question, to a point.
But how about this? The U.S. Congress forcing you to buy health insurance if you are an adult and if not, you will pay a hefty tax penalty.
Violation of the Commerce Clause and/or Takings Clause under the U.S. Constitution?
    Stay tuned.

people are sick and poor, we need to help them, so we need a complicated bureaucratic nightmare of an institution in order to help the most people possible, but because of corruption we won’t help anyone. Sound familiar? It’s business as usual in America.

It should be you option however, if you elect not to buy Health Insurance and require care you should expect to pay for it and not expect “free” care that the rest of us pay for.

    More government jobs.
Keeping track of who has what insurance, then enforcing the rules and fines, will create thousands of new jobs.
