What Entry-level Job In Health Care Is Best If I Plan To Become A Medical Assistant Or Nurse?

I would skip the medical assistant training as I’ve heard that there are not too many jobs available for MA’s (or medical biller and coder). Most here have said to instead go for the LPN (licensed practical nurse) as there are supposed to be more job opportunities. Perhaps there is such a program at the local county vo-tech school.
And if still wanting to go to school for MA, please choose a less expensive one such as the ones offered thru the community college (perhaps non-credit course) or county vo-tech school as opposed to those private schools that are thousands of dollars. And please steer clear from those ‘online schools’ such as penn foster and stratford career as employers don’t find them to be reputable.

You could work within the office, at a doctor or hospital. Also CNA, hospitals are hiring those now. I volunteered at the hospital and because of this I got quite a few interviews within the medical field. I did not take those jobs though, I work as a receptionist for a dealership. I really love it here too.

CNA. Once you are in the door, they will do just about anything to keep you if you are really a good worker with potential. Good luck.

Do a CNA instead of MA, in my area there’s more CNA jobs and our local college requires the CNA anyways to get into the LPN program.
Any entry level job to get your foot in the door at the place you want to work would be great. Aim for a clerical job.

A CNA or STNA , depending on what state you are from, is the best way to go. This will give you a great insight into the nursing/ medical career field.
Talk to any nurse nd you will find out many of them started out as a CNA. It is a valuable experience no matter what healthcare field you choose.
