When I was little the doctor always looked at private parts. If you are talking about a pelvic exam, probably when you become sexually active or if you have problems with menstruation.
As to the special doctor, it was probably an internist that you saw.

It depends on two things: your doctor and your lifestyle.
Generally, well woman checkups should start at age 18, but girls who have added issues earlier than that need to start as soon as they have those added issues. I hope you have a parent or trusted adult in your life who would be able to discuss what those “added issues” would be.

A doctor will look at your private parts when doing a physical exam, typically after you have began your menstrual cycle. You should have regular pelvic exams done to check for infection and cancer cells after you start your period. Also, if you are having pains, a history of reproductive complications or the doctor has reason to believe that there could be something wrong with your reproductive system, that would also lead him to looking at your private parts early.
Honestly, I have had it done for quite some time because I am pregnant and you get used to it. It’s not that bad. It’s their job!

they usually start doing a pevlic exam around 16 – or when you start becoming sexually active – which ever is first. If you think you are having problems and need to be checked out, say something to your mom. Also, you probably don’t want to hear this, but you could get a lot better advice from your mother than you can from yahoo…..
The doctor is called a proctologist.

Are you sure you didn’t go to the dentist or oncologist? It sounds really funny, and I think you may have made a mistake.

A general doctor does not look at a 10-year-old’s parts unless there is a problem or if it’s requested. They don’t look at your private parts at ANY age unless you have a problem there and you ask them to look. I’m talking from personal experience.
The specialist could have been a Proctologist or a Gastrentologist.

Well for one you shouldnt be asking questions you are too young. But I dont care … it doesnt bother me lol. I would think usually around 11. At that age the doctor asked me if i had my period too. Just a heads up and I dont know the name of the doctor sorry .

You probably saw a gastro-enterologist or maybe a proctologist.
And do NOT ever tell your age on an Internet site!!!
Or your real name or where you live or anything else like that.
