Uterine Irritability During Pregnancy?

I am 35 1/2 wks pregnant now and over the last couple days started having contactions. They were painless at first (braxton hicks) but now they are painful and killing my back and abdomin. I saw my Dr. this morning and they hooked me up to the monitors to watch me for an hour and sure enough, every 5min. I was contracting… but with no cervical change the Dr. said after an exam. He said the casue was “uterine irritibility.” anyone else have this problem or any info on it would be great. Thanks in advance.

    lol…yes i went to the hospital at 37 weeks for contratction type pain and they sent me home citing “irritations of the uterus,” I was back 6 hours later and delivered a baby girl 5 minutes after they got me in the bed and started prepping me for checkups and contraction monitoring. The nurse who sent me home earlier received a very vocal reprimand from my OB in the hallway afterwards. Thats just my story though, good luck and congrats on your new baby in the near future.
