Because they don't live in Canada, dimwit. If a U.S. citizen were to go to Canada to get medical treatment, we'd have to pay for it. It's for Canada citizens only.

Many Canadians currently get medical treatment in the USA. Where will Canadians and Americans go for health care once our own system is socialized? My guess is Costa Rica. Many already go there for treatments not approved by the FDA.
Say we did end up having a single pay health care system where rates for doctors and medical services are set, where would the money come from? Does anyone have a problem with taxing everyone a percentage of their income? It makes since to me. . . what's the problem? *Please explain ...
Doctors will remain private. Hospitals will remain private. Labs, dentists, and clinics will remain private. The only thing that won't remain private are the 3rd party for-profit paper shufflers....insurance. So if 1/10th of health care system is socialized, does that mean the entire system is socialized?

Perhaps you don't understand the type of insurance Congress enjoys. They and the President use a single-payer system in which their coverage is paid by taxpayers. Why would they spend the money to use a Canadian system that is the same as the kind they currently use? ...
I'd love to hear people's rationale for why government funded medical care will be better than private insured medical care. Will doctors, nurses, and ancillary staff automatically work harder because it's for the government? Which government facility do you hope this socialized health care mimicks most in efficiency? ...
