My mother wants to get glasses that fit her face and our regular private doc does not assist you with this and makes you feel somewhat rushed-not always but the lady helping you stands there and watches everything you do and just says ‘oh that looks great!’ even if they make you look ridiculous!!! Many of the reviews i have seen online about lenscrafters have been iffy. The redmond one in washington was also very iffy and i wanted to go to the lynnwood one but cant find reviews on it! On top of that i heard they lie about pricing but have a huge assortment of glasses, should we just stick with our regular or try out lenscrafters. We are also in no position to be lied to about pricing, we are ready to shell out bucks if we have to but we MUST know the first time around and cant wait for a bill to come and shock us-ya know?
Thanks and 10 points possibility :)

I usually stick with private stores. They might not have as large a selection of designer frames, but their service is generally more intimate and their prices are usually lower. As with anything, you can shop around the different stores and see if there are any frames that you like best. Do check the price though, because lens pricing depends on the thickness of the lens, scratch resistance and anti-glare protection (though these are pretty standard these days).
Opticians that fit your glasses will vary, even within one store, so you cannot always trust the reviews. If you don’t like the sales person/optician, you can get another or leave.
Finally, I don’t know about the Washington Lenscrafters, but the ones in Canada sometimes have a “30 day” satisfaction guarantee, where if you don’t like your glasses after you’ve worn them, you can bring them back for another frame.

There are other chains or private optometrists that you can go to.
Ask about price up front. Be sure that you know what is included. Only certain styles or prescriptions may be part of special pricing. There may be add-ons for scratch resistance or other lens treatments.
