Please Help Me!!!!… How Long Should I Wait Before Going To The Doctors?

The itching is getting worse & it’s in a private spot. Now I really think I’ve waited too long! And no, it’s not an STD, my husband & I have not done anything in months! (And, no I am NOT doing anything with anyone else, either!)
It started when I didn’t take a shower for about 2 days a couple weeks ago. I was depressed. I don’t want to say anything to my husband, because I don’t want him to think I am cheating. But I don’t know what to do, since I have to get money from him to pay for the doctor! What is a girl to do in this situation?
(Yes, I have been at least washing that area since all this started! I’ve even gone as far as buying Summer’s Eve cleansing cloth. I wonder if that’s making it worse?)
HELP, Please!! & Please do not judge me… because I am depressed & embarassed enough!!

Vagisil has a new product that I’ve seen on t.v. lately. Apparently, it’s a test for vaginal infections, including yeast and bacterial infections. The test is a home test and you have an answer in a short while (maybe even minutes). Go to your local pharmacy and pick one up and test yourself. If it’s just a simple yeast infection, you don’t need a doctor and can treat yourself. If it’s bacterial or something else, then you will need to see a doctor.

The cleansing cloths could be making it worse, especially using soap. My guess is that you may have a yeast infection. That’s NOT a STD; yeast is present all over our skin and in the vaginal canal at all times, but it’s usually kept under control by “friendly” bacteria on our bodies. If the balance between yeast and bacteria gets out of whack, the yeast gets out of control, and it will make you ITCH. Lots of things can cause tip the balance – stress, a change in diet, a change in water, or any number of other things. I’d try getting a yeast treatment; you can buy them over the counter (Monistat is probably the best-known brand), and they have full directions for use.
If that doesn’t clear it up, it’s time to go to the doctor. You may not have been cheating, but it’s possible (however unlikely) that your husband HAS. Your doctor can bill you most of the time.
May I also suggest (even though you did not ask and I realize it’s none of my business) that you find SOME way to get money for yourself; you should not be at the mercy of your husband to the point that you have to ASK for money to go to the doctor. A man that exercises that kind of control coupled with a wife who may or may not have an STD makes ME wonder a LOT.

    Hi Sweetie,
    It’s probably a yeast infection & U should go
to the Dr. A.S.P. We all get them come hell r high water. Plse go now as r husband can be incubated as well. Because they have over the counter meds for this, like Monistate U can also go that route, but do it soon, & it’s not r fault u have this as it’s a women’s problem. U HAVE DONE 0 WRONG, IT JUST APPEARS, WE DON’T

ummmmmm it sounds like a yeast infection.
just get some cream for it at a drug store or a department store.
if it doesnt go away after that, you should probably go to the doctors

Could be a yeast infection, which are common and no biggie. Go to a doctor and yes the cleansing cloths could be making it worse.

O this is normal, it might be the soap your useing. and stop useing the cloth’s, there making it worse. only take showers. don’t use soap. don’t ich or rub it ethier. Tell your husband you need your monthly female doctor vist. And tell him you have had a reaction to your soap or something. The get the doctors to look at it. There probally nothing to worry about. just go to the doctor as soon as possible.

Dances with Unicorns is right. Havng to ask for money to go to the doctor is repugnant on so many levels. I’m not trying to be rude, but it seems to me that you have more problems than a yeast infection. You shouldn’t have to ask. You also shouldn’t be afraid to ask. You said you & your husband haven’t done anything in months. Is that why you are afraid to ask? Is it also why you are depressed & embarassed? Sweetie, you need more than one kind of doctor. I hope you get the help you need. Good Luck & Blessings & Prayers

Yeah, it sounds like a simple yeast infection. You don’t need to go to the doctor for that, you can buy treatment over the counter at the pharmacy. You don’t have to put up with itching.

You have yeast. Eat lots and lots of yogurt and milk, but you are going to need antibiotics for it. Don’t worry; it’s COMMON!!. Wear cotton panties and DON’T be over-washing. If you wear thongs, pitch them. That causes it too. There are some suppositories over-the-counter for yeast infections and creams that you can try first if you don’t want to take an oral anti-biotic.
Babies get this really easy around their diaper area too. My pediatrition said to apply Lamisil to the OUTSIDE area around the skin where there are bumps.

    Could be thrush.
You need to see a doctor and get some cream or pesseries.

Do you have a thick, kinda clumpy discharge? If so, go to the drug store or supermarket and buy a treatment for vaginal yeast infections (monistat is one brand, but there are others as well). Most of them will come with a cream that you can apply to the outside itchy area too.
I’d stop the extra washing and cleansing cloths. They may just be irritating you more.
If that doesn’t work, or if you don’t have a thick discharge, then you have no choice but to go to the doctor. If you don’t have insurance, check out how much your local Planned Parenthood will charge you. They don’t just do birth control. They do general women’s health issues too.
Don’t worry … most vaginal infections are not from STDs. They’re either from yeast, or ‘normal’ non-scary bacteria. Bacterial infections can happen to anyone, but they need treatment.
