I’m 16 and don’t want to ask my parents because it’s private.
I’m not pregnant or anything, just female problems and my doctor is male. I don’t want him to examine me, I’d prefer a female..
I live England..

Hello,
Call and ask to book an appointment (for whichever day you need)
They will ask which doctor you normally see, and you can then say I would like to see a female doctor today please. They will have no problem with it and will book you in with someone else.
Good luck

Just ring up, “your doctor” is usually just the “main” doctor, so its unlikely you’d get him anyway, just ring up, and if you know the name of a female doctor that works there, ask for an appointment with them, or just ask for an appointment with a female doc!
Good luck!

As everyone else has said, make the appointment at your GP surgery yourself and ask to be seen by a female doctor.
Or you can always contact NHS direct on 0845 46 47 for advice

Simple. Contact your surgery to book an appointment, and tell them when you book it, that you wish to be seen by a female doctor only. You may need to wait slightly longer for an appointment though.

I can’t believe that you are 16 and don’t know how to make an appointment!
You ring the dotcor and tell them exactly what you’ve typed here – simple.

Just ask to see one of the female doctors (if there is one there)… or ask for one of the female nurses when you make your appointment…
