Aww, I feel bad. My daughter got a yeast infection & it was painful for her when I wiped her off(she was still a baby when she got her infection). If you do feed her some yogurt make sure it’s the plain kind because if it has loads of sugar in like most yogurts do it can make it worse. Like someone else said it could be due to the fabric sheets, bubble bath or anything with perfumes in it. Just take her to the doctor & see what they say. Good luck & I hope your little girl feels better!
To the guy or girl above me, you’re a perv moron. Future tip, drop the “e” before adding “ing” My source for that:3rd grade.
Have a nice future at Burger King living in a van down by the river.

The other responses already mentioned infection. For my kid, around the same age it turned out to be she was playing in sand in preschool…. long story short, after some over-the-counter cream application, the problem went way. Of course, since then, I’ve always had her wear biking-shorts kind of thingy over undie, if she is wearing a dress or sand could get in there!
Then, when she was 6, she had a similar “private area hurts” problem. This time, turned out, the reason was her undie was too small for her. She is very slender, so we didn’t see the need to move her to a bigger size. She was slender, but very tall for her age, so the undie was scraping against that area.
Ok, just couple of probable causes if it is not an infection….

yeast infection? yes, little girls get it too.
if she is wiping herself, she might be wiping from back to front instead of front to back.

like everyone said could be yeast infection. But does she take long baths..possibly with alot of soap in there. My girl when she was young was very sensative..we had to wash and rinse quick and get her out of the tub or she would get irritated.

Most likely a yeast infection, little girls get those too, especially if they have been sitting in a wet bathing suit. Take her to a doctor to find out.
There is a small possibility that the pain is from sexual abuse. Please don’t jump to conclusions, but talk to her about “good-touch, bad-touch,” with a doll. Ask her if anyone has ever “bad touched” her. Hope I didn’t upset you, you just can never be too sure.
EDIT: I just remembered that I was itchy and irritated down there when I was a kid. My mom took me to a couple doctors before they finally figured out I that it was from dryer sheets. Try soap w/o perfumes and dyes, and run a load w/o dryer sheets for her.

Could be a yeast infection — my daughter had those because of when she wiped going to the bathroom. Could also be a urinary tract infection, but bet it’s the first one.

she may have a yeast infection, if she has been taking antibiotics I am sure it is that, if not she may just have one, my little girl sometimes complains and I have an ointment that i put on it and it quickly fades.

Could be a yeast infection. Does she take alot of bubble baths? I remember my niece used to get them due to taking bubble baths.
If it is has a yeast infection, have her eat yogurt…

Itchiness is often associated with a yeast infection as other people have stated. However, painful or burning upon urination could also be a urinary tract infection. The doctor will most likely collect a urine sample and run tests to see if there is bacteria in it, and if so, subsequently put her on antibiotics. Same thing would be done if a yeast infection was present.

Yep sounds like a yeast infection to me. Doesnt mean you did anything wrong either so dont feel bad. One thing I did find out from my oldest is that if she is given juice that hasnt been waterd down(more than the directions) then she will get them nearly every time. Also eating yogurt helps in the prevention of them. I give my girls those Gogurt tubes (kind of like pop ice) and freeze them to make a yogurt pop. They love them and frozen like that helps keep from making a mess. The itching is what makes me think yeast but the hurts in side could also be a uti(urinary tract infection) we get those often too. Good luck and hope she feels better soon.
