Yes. It is. With only government funding to run them with, hospitals will not be worth sh!t. It is that way in many countries.
There will be shortages of EVERYTHING and no way to get anything.

Government health care is always rationed health care. The worse the economy is, the worse the health care will be. There will be no value in giving excellent health care. Everyone will be treated the same. There will be no competition for coverage. Corporations will get a huge gift when they no longer have to provide health care. The Government will save them a fortune. Nurses and Doctors will unionize to protect themselves from the government. Hold on to your kaopectate. When you see the results of socialized medicine, you will need it.

You’d possibly be right if the issue in the United States was HEALTH CARE, but HEALTH CARE isn’t what we’re talking about. The issue in the United States is affordable and universal HEALTH INSURANCE. If you can mount an attack against INSURANCE then that’s what you should do, not toss in the HEALTH CARE strawman. If we had universal HEALTH INSURANCE the HEALTH CARE system would stay exactly the same as it is now….the difference would be that doctors and hospitals would be paid on time and in full by all patients rather than have the paying patients subjected to having their bills padded to pay for various out of pocket costs. The costs per person would be far less than than it is now as there would be only one SINGLE PAYER, and that SINGLE PAYER would be subject every kind of oversight that can possibly exist. At this point private insurance is either unaffordable, or restricted to the slowly dieing employer-based health insurance form of financing. So, let’s not compare Japan or Canada or England or Lower Slobolia to the United States. Let’s compare what we have to what we could have if it wasn’t for these continuous arguments about HEALTH CARE when the issue is HEALTH INSURANCE. No kiddin’!

This very well could happen here. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t move to a UHC system.
Don’t forget, that with the system we have right now, hospitals aren’t full because many sick people can’t afford to be treated. You are pointing out one guy who died because hospitals were full. I’d like to direct your attention to the masses in our country dieing because they can’t afford to try to see a doctor at all. Which is the bigger problem?

“Is this what we can expect from Universal health care?”
Pretty much, yeah.
Dont listen to those who will sing the praises of UHC, promising lolipops and rainbows, and saying that this will not happen under THEIR version of UHC. It will. That and tons of other terrible things. One just needs to do a google search to come up with the horror stories connected with UHC.
im foxy writes: “We already have that NOW!”
Lie. No we dont have that right now. But we will have that under a UHC
“Don’t you read the papers?”

That’s the first thing I thought when I originally read that story. Japan must have socialized health care.
It’s amazing that so many stupid people in the U.S. want the same kind of health care. Maybe they won’t think so when their relatives start dying, like that poor man.

It will draw business to America, so we can compete. Right now, the cost of health care is too much for business to handle, when they can do business in any other 1st world country and not have that cost.

Picking out isolated freak incidents will not help your case considering Japanese life expectancy is number 3 in the world and America is 42nd.
Why not show a story about how the American government breaks int’l law to put huge tariffs on medicine from Canada so thier own citizens have to pay 75% higher fees for thier medicine? Why doesn’t anyone assasinate someone over this? They’re killing you for profit! I know a friend from the US has a grandma on her pension and she’s paying $500USD per month for her healthcare! Ya, UHC sounds terrible…
EDIT: They don’t live longer because of UHC? Hmmm. Well why does every country with proper UHC have longer life spans than the US? Do Canadians or Brits or French or Aussies or New Zealanders or Italians or yada yada yadas eat rice all day?
Canadians pay 5x less for healthcare and yet they live longer! Your arguement is to put your health in the hands of a corporation! Your paying for 30 second spots during the Superbowl for corporate ads that cost millions instead of helping sick people. Trust me I know, I sell insurance!

We should expect health care as it is in Germany; available to all and affordable.
