Your taxes will contribute indirectly to paying for other people’s medical bills. Universal health care is a good concept if it is implemented to help less fortunate people get health care. The problem is that no government has figured out how to make it successful. Canada has universal health care, but it has turned into a big mess. When people allow the government to run programs like health care, costs skyrocket and quality goes way down. That is why some Canadians are choosing to come to the US to receive medical care.

Yes you will and you already are.
The costs for the people who do not have health coverage and visit a hospital or emergency room are recovered by charging more for the people who do have coverage or can pay their bill. I believe it is called “shared cost”.
So, whether you want to or not, you are paying other peoples’ medical bills, at least for hospital visits.

Dude, you are paying other people’s bills NOW, and you won’t be if we have universal health care. Right now the uninsured go to the emergency room for health care, which is the most expensive way to get treated. The taxpayers pick up the bill. Under universal health care, the government will subsidize those who are poor and can’t afford their premiums, not us.

Sure but if and when an epidemic hits you or any other disease, you will be paying for that too. And with that chance increasing rapidly would it not be better to have something than to go bankrupt under the present system.

Yeah. And if you find yourself without health insurance in the future, other people will be paying your medical bills.

You will be paying their medical bills, and they will be paying yours. Does that part not work for you? ?°)

Think of it this way, someone will be paying your health bills.*

Nope. It means you’ll be paying less for your own medical bills.
