If Socialized Health Care Is So Good Why Don’t Members Of Congress Go To Canada For Medical Treatment?

Perhaps you don’t understand the type of insurance Congress enjoys. They and the President use a single-payer system in which their coverage is paid by taxpayers. Why would they spend the money to use a Canadian system that is the same as the kind they currently use?     Or even take the plan, themselves?
    Holden that is completely disingenuous. Other PRIVATE plans will evaporate over time as plans change, and as government slants the playing field to ‘encourage’ the ‘public option’. Once you lose your plan, for that reason or because you change jobs you are unable to enter another ‘grandfathered’ plan but have to enter an ‘approved plan’, which is not what the plans are now and do not allow free market alternatives for YOUR circumstances.
    Since we pay for Congress directly their ‘plan’ will NOT end, and they and only they will never be faced with this travesty of health care.
    Tell me, how do you pay 2/3 of the cost of covering tens of millions of people by cuts in already bankrupt medicare as Obama said the plan would do, and not cut services? you can’t. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB12469297…

    I just heard about the healthcare options that our Congress has available to them. I hardly think they’d even be affected by Obamacare. It’s true there needs to be some change but until they come up with something better that won’t bankrupt us we have to hope it won’t pass.

    I don’t get what’s so difficult to grasp about Obama’s health care plan.
    You don’t like it, stick with the one you have. That’s why most congress members aren’t going to use it, they’ve already got health care, so why would they switch?
    Really, where’s the hang up?

    Because they are not eligible because they are not Canadian.
    And Canadian style reform has been off the table for awhile now.
