    Insurance IS the problem.
Let’s look at it this way. For routine medical care, it’s far cheaper for both doctors and patients to pay out of pocket for a service. Just like you don’t charge your car insurance company for every oil change, you wouldn’t charge your insurance for a routine check up. Doctors would have cash in hand for the service, there would be less overhead with billing and paperwork. They would charge LESS than what they do now because what they agree to get paid by the insurance company is far less than what they charge. (Actually, many docs do that already if you tell them you’re a cash patient. You’ll get the visit for approximately what they make from insurance.)
Let’s leave insurance for the biggies. For the broken arms, the cancer, the car accident. That’s what it was originally designed for in the first place.
Creating a giant government run HMO doesn’t seem to make much sense when people who do have HMOs generally hate them and their restrictions. HMOs are just fine if you don’t have any health problems – it’s when you do that they fail.

A better question…if the insurance companies are the enemy, why is your government, with Obama as the head leader, trying to force you to buy it. Obama’s “health care” is really mandated insurance.
You will now be mandated by law to buy Blue Cross/Blue Shield or it’s equivilant or suffer the consequences. Fines, jail time or whatever they deem satifactory.
    Enjoy your “Change”!
