The better doctors would open their own offices as they are now and the not so good doctors would work for the Universal system because they would be guaranteed a job. It would be the same as an elaborate medicaid system for those who could not afford insurance. But the quality of care would be much different.

Under the original Hillary care, it would have been illegal for a doctor to practice privately.

Yes….this is still a free country, as long as democrats don’t ruin it.

Under a one payer plan ALL DOCTORS ARE IN PRIVATE PRACTICE !!! If you mean what if they refuse to accept the one payers payment. They are free to accept your cash or credit card.

Yes i believe he/she can.The problem with universal health care is that the insurance or health care provider determines what steps are necessary for the individuals best health, not the doctor’s opinion.

“Let me ask you this, can a doctor set up currently if they don’t want to work with private insurance companies?”
yes they can. many small doctors are refusing to accept any insurance charging a flat monthly fee for their services. this is an example of the market working it self out. as it will continue to do.
well considering you are trying to compare privatization to government run I figured you couldn’t know the answer due to the fact those two are not comparable.

We have universal education… yet private schools still exist.
That’s kind of the way we democrats see Universal Health Care… that everyone can have it… but private companies can still be a part of it as well. We don’t see it as Doc’s and Companies being ran by the government… just access to healthcare for everyone.
And some would try to argue that our public education system is a bad example… but can you imagine how many people would have 0 education and how low our nation would score without it? We are much better with it. The same will be true of Universal Health Care.

Doctors don’t work for insurance companies. They are paid by insurance companies. Same thing would happen under a universal healthcare system. They’d just be getting money from a government-managed organization instead of private corporations.
You seem to have a hard time understanding how this all works.

Who knows the specifics of Hillarys healthcare plan when they’re not even decided yet.

    Given the proposed ideas, yes.
Let me ask you this, can a doctor set up currently if they don’t want to work with private insurance companies?
Capitan: I knew that answer. It was rhetorical.
