I am just curious. I am paying about 200 per month for medical and dental through my employer (coca cola). This is for the family plan which cover my wife and 2 kids with a 600 dollar deductible on medical. It has went up every year for the last 5 yrs.

My husband works for Chase and we are expecting pretty soon and he only pays $90 every check! We only pay the copay (which is about 10-20 a visit) and once a 30 copay for my obgyn and we have not paid a dime since ( I have at least had 10 appointments in the last 4 months)! When the baby is born we don’t have to pay for anything either!!! We have Aetna and it covers: Health, Vision, Dental, and any Prescriptions!!!!!

I used to work in a doctor’s office and you actually pay very little compared to what some family plans cost. Even where I worked, the family plan, medical only was over $600 a month. My husband is a retired Marine, so we went back to the military insurance (Tricare) when I stopped working. We previously were using his county insurance, which was about $300 a month for the family, medical only. Dental is seperate and is only about $50 a month. Tricare costs $115 per quarter, so that’s $460 a year, no matter how many people are in our family. I really don’t like Tricare because we’re in a city where there are only a couple of providers for Tricare, so we’re sort of stuck on service. We don’t have a deductible though, and copays are only $12.00. For procedures, if Tricare feels it can be done up at McDill Air Force Base, you have to go up there even though there may be doctors in this city who are able to do the procedure. It’s a big hassle. If I had a choice, I’d go back to commercial insurance, but until I go back to work, that’s not going to happen.

I’m in local 880 which is a grocer’s union through my work. I pay nothing with a $250 deductible and very cheap prescriptions. Dental and vision are both included and don’t cost any extra either. It’s the best insurance I’ve ever had.
