How Much Does Birth Control Usually Cost With Medical Insurance?

I used to go to a free clinic that prescribed free birth control. Now that I have health insurance through my work, I think I’m just going to see a Gyno in a regular medical office. Does anyone know how much it costs with insurance?

    Its a prescription, so how ever much your prescription co-pay is. If you cant afford it, you can always go to planned parenthood. They will give it to you for free. Good luck.

    there is usually a co-pay between 5 and 15 dollars.

    co pays are usually 5/ 10 dollars not more than that usually
    look at your ins card at the bottom

    It depends on your deductible read your contract or call the 800 number.

    Depends on your insurance and if you get the brand name or the generic. Usually $10 – $20.

    Normally not too much if it’s not free… I wouldn’t pay more than $10-20 for it if it was with insurance.

    It really depends on your insurance co-pay and what you’re getting. I use a brand name birth control and my co-pay is $50 for a three month supply.

    That will depend on your insurance. I have a copay for prescription drugs. The generic form of my BC is 20.00. However, the non-generic form is 40.00. Some insurances cover all the RX and some have cheaper or more expensive co pays. I’d check out your RX policy with your insurance company to find out for sure.

    it depends on what kind of coverage you have. some doesnt cost any and some may cost a few dollars.

    It totally depends on the type of insurance and the type of pill you are getting…….but I’d say $20-40 a month. I am on Seasonal and it’s only costs me $20 for the 3 months of pills. So it depends, but it’s not going to be a lot.

    It should not be covered. That would be like oil changes being covered under auto insurance. Prices would skyrocket for all of us.
    The best birth control is the closing of the legs or zipping up the pants unless the time is right.

    No, but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than kids. and depends on what kind of BC you get.

    U need to know this about birth control!?
    Recently this past week, my cousin Nicole Dishuk (age 31…newly graduated student with a doctoral degree about to start her new career as a Doctor…) was flown into a nearby hospital, because she passed out.
    They found a blood clot in her neck, and immediately took her by helicopter to the ER to operate. by the time they removed the right half of her skull to relieve the pressure on her brain, the clot had spread to her brain causing severe damage.
    Since last Wednesday night, she was battling.. they induced her into a coma to stop the blood flow, They operated 3 times.. Finally, they said there was nothing left that they could do.. they found multiple clots in the left side of her brain.. the swelling wouldn’t stop, and she was on life support..
    She died at 4:30 yesterday. She leaves behind a husband, and a 2yr old Brandon and a 4yr old Justin.. The CAUSE of DEATH – they found was a birth control she was taking that allows you to only have your period 3 times per year.

    They said it interrupts life’s menstrual cycle, and although it is FDA approved… shouldn’t be – So to the women in my address book – I ask you to boycott this product & deal with your period
    once a month – so you can live the rest of the months that your life has in store for you.
