Do you think it’s ok to shave your private area when you’re pregnant. I think I would be embarrased of not doing so when I go to the doctor or when it’s time to deliver my baby. Any suggestions?

I always did. Got a bit uncomfy at the end of pregnancy, but I did it. I know how you feel. Don’t wanna go in lookin like a hairy beast lol.

Im 34 weeks and I shave mine the day before my prenatal apt. everytime. Im going to have my fiance shave it for me when I realize Im in labor. I just dont feel comfortable with hair down there. And I feel really embarrassed having someone look at me. Right now, Its hard for me to see at all so I (unfortunately) have to feel around down there and make sure I didnt miss anything.
If you want to shave, I would suggest that you buy a razor that best suits you and prob should have more than two blades. My skin is so much more sensitive now that I am pregnant and the increased blood flow doesnt help when you cut yourself. I just use the disposables with two blades. They dont hurt me anad I dont get razor burn.
good luck

doctors actually tell you not to shave for at least 1 week prior to delivering your baby. you could possibly cut yourself and it could cause infection. the doctors will shave you if needed for your delivery. however i did shave. i just didn’t feel right not shaving with all of those people looking down there.

I always do! If I’m going to the doc and there’s a chance he might be looking there I definitely shave. But since I can’t see down there any more, I use a mirror and I use a little electric shaver, not a razor. Even with a mirror it would be a little scary with a razor. Ouch!

Yes I agree.
I would have liked to have kept shaving but when you are 8 months on it is so hard to move let alone be able to shave there.
Also the doctors and midwifes have probably seen a lot worse, so I am not worried now.

i did all the way to the end because i thought id be embarrassed. use a mirror its much easier and believe me you actually wont care at all who can see it when your giving birth, you will be concentrating on your baby.

I have always shaved… it is getting a little harder to see all of my girly bits but Im in the process of talking my husband into lending a hand… I just feel “cleaner” after Ive shaved. Its a personnal choice.
