I turned 40 in July, so like a good little girl I went and had my very first mammogram and had to go back for more images and was diagnosed with calcifications. I was told to have a mammo done every 6 months for two years. My insurance wont cover it. ( I use Aenta )
What do I do now?
Thanks!!

health-quotes.isgreat.org – my family have this health insurance. It is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.

I”m curious why they won’t cover it too. I understand a lot of plans only cover 1 routine mammogram but you are having additional ones for medical reasons which should be covered. First, I would call Aetna and double check this and if that doesn’t resolve this then obtain a copy of your benefit book from your employer(assuming that’s how you have this insurance). If your benefit book doesn’t say mammograms are excluded then go to your benefits department and check with them. I work for another insurance company and none of our plans exclude medically necessary mammograms.

Pay the bill, unless you have a specific disease process which you don’t the insurance is only required to pay for one mammogram a year.
