Losing a job is an experience of rejection and I have to go through this grieving process. During economy crisis, many people are experiencing the same scenario. I am extremely stressful everyday as I need to fight with financial as well as emotional uncertainty. I keep reminding myself that I must stay positive so that I will have a better perspective in future.
To be frank, the very first thing I need to sort out is my finances. I recalled the moment I received the news that I was made redundant, I was very upset and panic. However, after 48 hours, I told myself that I must calm down and plan properly. I started to assess my financial position. I worked out a list of my current debts and my monthly commitment.
When I was working out my budget, I was very worried as I thought I have lost my medical coverage which was provided by my ex-employer. I started to think about the high medical fee and the cost of prescriptions. These expenses would definitely kill me as I didn’t have much saving. Suddenly, I recalled that I have a private healthcare plan which I purchased 3 years ago. I quickly took out my insurance policy and read the details. To my surprise, I am financially protected by this plan.
Thanks god! I don’t need to worry about the high medical cost. I can concentrate myself to look for new job. I know the sun still shines on me! I strongly believe that even with my part time job, I am still able to pay for the premium.
