Emergency Room Doctor – Private Practice?

can an MD that has completed an emergency medicine residency go into private practice/have a medical office?

Unless they decide to do a new specialty; I can’t really see the point of an emergency doctor in an office setting.
Oh doctor, your 3pm accidental poisoning patient just arrived, should we let him wait? Oh, another stabbing victim, should we tell him to find a different place to go because we don’t have an operating room?

Most emergency physicians are in private practice. But there’s no reason he couldn’t open an office. Many do indeed go to the “minor emergency clinic” setting when they get older/worn out.

You could, but it would be difficult. It may easier for them to find a kindred spirit and open a practice together.
