They are just lying, and saying a health consultation every few years for the elderly is telling people to die.
Everytime I think they cannot tell a lie more outrageous than the last one – they manage to top it!

You’re talking about “end of life counseling” because your are about to go HAVE surgery.
The Obama plan is talking about “end of life counseling” because the government has decided you are NOT going to get the surgery, or the expensive prescriptions.
Obama has stated that the last years of a person’s live is over 25% of healthcare cost and that “Needs to be looked at”
What do you think he meant?
The government will decide what the last years of your life are worth and……………….What are they worth to you?

There is talking to people about getting their affairs in order and then there is talking people into not requesting services that might extend or improve their lives because of a government created shortage.
An end of life process might involve someone in a spiritual capacity, maybe a doctor to discuss options and loved ones. A government bean counter with charts and graphs? No. No human should ever be in a position to decide if saving someones life would be cost effective. Not even if they know BO personally.
We’re not talking about paperwork. We are talking about the equivalent of hit men with calculators. All for the greater good as decided by the government. Doing things to you, for your own damn good.

It’s not even REMOTELY in place the way they are proposing it. These are people who wrote BOOKS saying that old people should just take their pain medicine and die, and to stop being a drain on society. No one has an end of life planner show up on their door step every 5 years. This is WAY beyond what exists now and is extremely morbid, Stop living in denial and somehow giving this garbage a pass.

It seems that Republicans don’t. I have been counseled about a living will, surrogate, medical power of attorney, etc. each year and for each surgery while in the Army and in civilian life.
But scare and terror work well for the Party of Lies.

Very true. But conservatives think they have found a way to scare the ‘by Jesus’ out of older people.. The founder of this rumor is Betsey McCaughey who works for Hudson,a Washington/New York think tank sponsored largely by the Drug and Insurance companies. Do you see a conflict of interest here? That’s what she get paid to do. To think up this type of BS. By the way Carl Rove, the master of ‘scare politics’ worked for Hudson also.

Suggesting to a person to have a living will, appointing a health surrogate and power of attorney are very different from a government controlled doctor trying to talk you out of or denying health care because your worth to society has passed due to your age.

These people are more concerned with partisanship and fear mongering than facts. Otherwise, they’d actually read the bill. http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/stat…

yeah, private insurance are required to offer it too ever since 1990. All conservatives have is fearmongering, what else can you say?
