Does Univesal Health Care Help With Medical Bills?

What we need is true competition. Where I live the vast majority of doctors have been sucked up into one mega clinic. They fix prices and limit refills on blood pressure maintenance meds. A person can die from withdrawal of blood pressure medications, they have you over a barrel.
Like months ago, they harassed my wife over a bill, then she went into the doctor and the doctor would not let her go until her blood pressure was lower. It was the harassment that caused the spike in blood presser and the clinic charged extra for the longer doctor visit.
In Ontario Canada they are considering a bill that allows pharmacists there to continue refills of maintenance medication without a doctor.
On CBS news last week they ran a story that a high percentage of times when medical tests come back with bad results the patient often is not told. They said the solution should be to post the test results online so the patient can share in the responsiblitiy for the tests. The dots they did not connect was that the incentive to order the tests was profit, not any real interest in trying to figure out the problem. They just get money from testing the hell out of people, that is the main goal.

No one knows exactly how it will work, but I’m sure it will not pay for any medical costs you have already incurred.
