Does a bear vacation in the woods? Just look at the numbers: infant mortality, life expectancy, etc. # 37.

Europe has a better healthcare system is you are never sick or need healthcare. Socialized medicine is rationed and managed. That means if you get sick, you will get put on a list and likely die there waiting.
The U.S. has a better healthcare system if you are sick.

Though america is a very great, rich country indeed, it still lacks the sufficient mentality to be able to integrate a new, health care system. I myself am british, and though I have many and varied complaints against the system, I am always secure in the knowledge that it is there.
Now, this is not an opportunity to '*****' about america in any way, shape or form, but when I say mentality, I mean the ideal of Capitalism. I myself do not know which system to 'believe' in i.e. Communism, Capitalism etc. but I do know that America is too capitalist at heart in order to allow a free or relatively cheap health care system to be opened. This is personified in Palin's remarks, which stopped just short of calling Barack Obama 'evil'.
However, I fully understand that you cannot simply create a health care system. It took britian about 70-80 years to make one and it is still not fully working. Also, I do agree with the REpublicans that is is the Middle and Upper paid citizens who Will have to bear the burden of many people who cannot afford health care for truley justifiable reasons, but also many who cannot afford it simply because they cannot be bothered to work and are lazy. THat is indeed a problem, but like every country, America is stuck with these people.

In the U.S., we expect adults to act like adults and not look to the state as some sort of parental figure that will take care of them (as well as tell them what they can and cannot do).
If you don't want to go broke, buy insurance. If you can't afford insurance, there's Medicaid.
