I’d like the choice for something affordable, I’m sick of my excessive premiums, and I’m even more tired of my HMO denying my claims and denying my doctors treatment plan.
I’m happy with my post office. It’s as dependable as Fedex, and about 1/10 the cost.

I work in an industry which is connected with the post office, and went to an event recently where a high level USPS administrator spoke. The post office lost 9 billion dollars in the last year, and they are on the ropes. Yes, they are a disaster, and they are subsidized by the federal government and still can’t make it. In fact, they are just now trying to implement a barcode to track mail. That’s something UPS and Fedex did years ago. The government is slow and cumbersome and wasteful. Obama put his foot in his mouth on this one.

National health care is also a financial insurance policy. Without it we are in danger of loosing our life savings and /or loosing the equity in our house if you are a democrat or loosing the equity in your trailer if you are a republican.
Also, Why do republicans insist on the uninsured continuing to use our emergency rooms for free health care then stiffing the taxpayer with the bill? When will republicans learn that there is no such thing as a free lunch?
Also2, Let me tell you all of a hard reality. Our present health care system has some serious flaws. For instance, when you hear of a senior that committed suicide due to poor health, they more than likely did it due to lack of insurance.
Seniors in that boat could wipe out their savings to live a few years longer, but doing that would leave their spouse financially destitute. So they’re left with three choices. They can either sit back and let nature take her agonizing course, or make their spouse financially destitute, or they can put a gun to their head. Such a scenario happens everyday.

Social Security and the VA are a better comparison.
By the way, if there’s a mandate that people get insurance the private insurers will fall all over themselves to offer insurance to good risk clients at very low premiums, and they’ll clean up by not having to pay out as much in claims.

    1. REALLY stupid question
    2. FIRST OF ALL, THERE WILL BE NO NATIONALIZATION OF HEALTH CARE!
[I go to the Dallas VA Medical Center and the government doesn’t even run THAT!]
There is NO “OBAMA CARE” The plan[s] are being built by congress.
The ONLY THING THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO DO IS ADD AN OPTION:
NON-PROFIT INSURANCE FOR THE POOR & UNEMPLOYED
There are 45 million Americans who have NO health care options except Emergency Rooms!
The USA is 37TH in HEALTH CARE!
These are NOT my idea of the best!
THE WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE IS TO DO NOTHING!
    Health care costs are:
Increasing 2-3 times faster than wages
Currently eating up 18% of our money
AND, WILL DESTROY OUR ECONOMY UNLESS WE FIX IT!
Want to know WHO DOESN’T want ANY CHANGE?
    THE INSURANCE COMPANIES!
THEY EAT 40% OF EVERY HEALTH CARE DOLLAR.
For what we are already paying, WE COULD INSURE EVERY MAN, WOMAN & CHILD IN AMERICA WITH ZERO DEDUCTIBLE, ZERO COPAY COVERAGE!
OK, SO HOW WILL THEY PAY FOR IT?
    >DRUG DISCOUNTS
    >ELIMINATING WASTE
    >LOCKING UP PEOPLE WHO COMMIT FRAUD
    >CONCENTRATING ON PREVENTATIVE CARE
[Currently, the only option for the poor is the E.R. at county hospitals and that’s THE MOST EXPENSIVE CARE THERE IS!]

I love how the libs here are defending the PO. Even Hussein said that UPS and FedEx are working just fine but the PO needs help. In other words, private companies work great but government run entities suck. A better example would be Amtrak.

“Neither rain nor sleet nor snow nor gloom of night staves my doctor from giving me a shot of Penicillin to cure my case of the clap”.
Now THERE’S health care I can believe in.

They want communism. They think American businesses have been bad for our country and want to eliminate them in favor of a nanny state that does everything for us cradle to grave.

The USPS never fails to deliver my mail. Insurance companies fail to deliver every day.

What is wrong with the Post Office? Do you have trouble getting your welfare checks or something?
