if you are going to like a free clinic or a community health center to see a doctor, are those doctors just as educated and qualified as ones who have their own private practice? if so, what are the reasons the doctors work in a clinic type environment rather than their own private office?

All MD’s are required to have a certain amount of education and traing based on their specialty. So yes MDs at community health/free clinincs have the same core education. Why do they work there instead of open their own clinic? Many reasons It probably doesn’t pay as well but there are no overhead cost either (ie equipment, staff, etc) as most of these facilities are local or state government funded in someway, It may just be the area of medicine they want to work in for whatever reason. Same concept behind why does the ER doc work ER, the surgeon , the OR etc. Medicine has a lot of options depending on your interests. The only caveat is that some community health clinics are staffed with residence who ar doctors that are fininshing their training. There could be a question of consistancy or lack of experience. As a whole though your probably in just as good hands as anywhere else. BE SMART, ASK QUESTIONS, AND RESEARCH. Thats my best advice to you.

yes
they all have to go to school just as long as the other one
some have private practice because they dont want to share there money with the clinic
and others do because they want to run there business there way

it has been my experience that private doctors are more through and try harder than the doctors at an hmo , but since doctors go by a code of conduct, and fear of a lawsuit, i will say most are pretty good regardless of where you see them, when you need to see a doctor there’s no way about it go to where you ccan find one.

they are just as educated and qualified as the ones in private practices. Some physicians just prefer not to have to deal with the inconvenience of running an office. They would rather get paid a sallary.
